This site is called Carla Hikes C2C because in 2022, I hiked Wainwright’s Coast to Coast with my friend Nancy, but without David, who, unfortunately, was home waiting for his second knee replacement surgery. We had all hiked the C2C together in 2015. This time the hike was not only a significant achievement for me but also a bittersweet experience as I wished David could share in the views and camaraderie that come with such adventures. I intended this site as a journal for myself as well as a way to share my photos and keep David, my family, and friends informed about my trip, giving them a glimpse of the stunning landscapes I encountered and the memories I created along the way. Since 2022 I haven’t used this site as a journal, but David and I have had more hiking adventures together exploring new trails and I have many more photos to share from these excursions. I’m going to try to restrain myself, however, and just put up highlights of a few of our trips, focusing on the most memorable moments that capture the essence of our adventures and the joy of being together in the great outdoors. I intend to journal our next big adventure walking the South Downs Way and a shorter trip called the Cotswold Round in England.
